TaiG iOS 8.1.3-8.4 Untethered Jailbreak Tutorial

UPDATE: TaiG has released version 2.0 which jailbreaks iOS 8.4! Have fun, the tutorial is the same!

Today, TaiG team have released a new version of their jailbreak software – TaiG Jailbreak – supporting iOS 8.1.3, iOS 8.2 and iOS 8.3. We do hope they will make it compatible with the upcoming iOS 8.4, but we’ll see in a few days when iOS 8.4 gets released for public by Apple.

Reasons not to update to iOS 8, at least not yet

This article reflects my sole point of view and my needs from a jailbroken iOS device (mainly – the iPhone). I’ve been a jailbreaker sincer my first iPhone 3G and I’m loving it. I’m going to give you a few reasons not to upgrade just yet to iOS 8 this friday.

Volume Mixer – Cydia tweak

Directly from VladMax Soft you can find in Cydia – Volume Mixer Notification Center – a widget that allows you to control the volume of each media channel & output separately, instead of being able to change it only when that channel is active (Ringer, Audio/Video for music, video and games, Phone Call, Bluetooth headset & headphones).

You can display all of the controls in the Notification Center at the same time, or choose to hide the ones you are not using. Read the rest

SpotLock – great new way to lock your iPhone

Yes, I know it’s available in Cydia for a while now, but I just remembered about this cool tweak called SpotLock coded by Lays.

I wanted a tweak like this one for years now – I always liked the idea of locking my iPhone by swiping all the way to the right of the screen. SpotLock is compatible with iOS 5, 6 and 7.

App Stat – track your App usage with this Cydia App

Ever wondered which are the apps you use the most? Well, if you’re jailbroken you can find out really easy by installing the app “App Stat” from Cydia. With this App, you can track app usage statistics, frequency of use, use of time and recent use. Really cool if you ask me.

You can find it in the BigBoss repository, and it’s available for free. You can install it on your iPhone, iPod Touch and all iPads running iOS 3.2 and later. Read the rest

SevenCenter – bring the iOS 7 Notification Center experience to iOS 5 and 6

Haven’t decided to update to iOS 7 yet but want some of its features? Jonas Gessner wrote this small Cydia tweak that will bring the iOS 7 Notification Center experience to iOS 5 and iOS 6.

Jonas made the code for this tweak open source and is available for download here. There are no options to configure for this tweak and you can find it in Cydia’s BigBoss repository.

We should mention that this tweak is only compatible with iOS 5 & iOS 6, iPhone & iPod touch only. Read the rest
