evasi0n tutorial

This tutorial will show you how to jailbreak your iOS 6 iDevice using the Evad3rs team “evasi0n” jailbreak solution. This tool works with any iPhone / iPod / iPad that is running iOS 6. Apple TV cannot be jailbroken with evasi0n. You will have to wait for an update or another tool to jailbreak your Apple TV.

Evasi0n is available to download for Windows, Mac or Linux and it will jailbreak but not unlock or hacktivate your iDevice. Scroll down to read the Windows or Mac tutorial.

Step 0:

Probably the most important step, always, be sure to backup your data before jailbreaking or restoring.

Step 1:

Download evasi0n – click this link to download from a secure server.

Step 2:

Once your download completes, extract the contents onto your desktop and open the evasi0n folder. You’ll need to right click on the evasi0n executable file and select the Run as administrator option. If you have User Access Control enabled, please click yes when prompted.

Step 3:

Prepare your iDevice. Remove your device passcode if it has one. No worries, you’ll restore the passcode later after we’re finished. If you don’t know how to remove the passcode, go to Settings > General > Passcode Lock > and choose Turn Passcode Off.

Step 4:

You’re now ready to plug in your iDevice to your PC. Evasi0n jailbreak tool will now show that is has detected your iDevice.

Step 5:

Once your device has been detected, you’ll see that the jailbreak button in the evasi0n windows will be enabled. Click the jailbreak button.

Step 6:

In the evasi0n window you’ll see some progress steps like preparing jailbreak data, rebooting the device, uploading Cydia, injecting jailbreak data, and so on. This is probably the more time consuming part of the jailbreak process. All you need to do is wait for the evasi0n jailbreak tool to do it’s stuff.

Step 7:

Now comes a part where evasi0n will now ask you to unlock your device. You’ll need to act here a bit. You will see a new app icon named “Jailbreak” on the second page of the Home. Tap this “Jailbreak” app once (just once, ok? 🙂 and if everything goes to plan, the screen should go black and then return to the Home screen immediately.

Step 8:

Now it’s time to be pacient as evasi0n will upload some more data into your iDevice. Let it do its stuff, let it reboot a few times. If everything goes well, evasi0n will say “Done”.

Step 9:

Once the jailbreak process has completed, you should now see a large evasi0n logo showing on your iOS device screen. Finally, you’ll be taken to your Lock Screen. Slide to Unlock your iOS device and Cydia should be present on the second page of your homescreen. That should be it, you have successfully jailbroken your iOS 6 iDevice using evasi0n for Windows.

Step 10:

Optional, if you *had* your passcode removed while performing this jailbreak, be sure to re-enable it.
